Polymerization of styrene:
PEROXAN DC may be used for the polymerization and copolymerization of styrene. In a mass process PEROXAN DB can be used to increase polymerization rates.
Temperature range: 110 to 165°C
Dosing: 0,02 to 0,1 phr
Coagent in flame retardant polystyrene:
Polystyrene is made flame retardant by the use of halogen-containing additives such as hexabromocyclododecane (PERGASAFE HBCD). PEROXAN DC may be used as a synergistic coagent in combination with PERGASAFE HBCD to produce flame retardant expandable polystyrene.
PEROXAN DC is recommended for the crosslinking of NBR, SBR, EP(D)M, LDPE and EVA. Rubber compounds containing PEROXAN DC combine good processing safety with a fair speed of cure.
Safe processing temperature (t2): 130°C
Typical crosslinking temperature (t90): 170°C
The safe processing temperature t2 is defined as the temperature, at which the scorch time is longer than 20 minutes. The typical crosslinking temperature t90 is defined as the temperature at which 90% of the crosslinks in the compound are formed within about 12 minutes.
