Polymerization of styrene:
PEROXAN BU may be used in polymerization and copolymarization of styrene. In a mass process PEROXAN BU can be used to increase polymerization rates.
Temperature range: 95 to 125°C
Dosing: 0,02 to 0,1 phr
Polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates:
PEROXAN DB can be used as initiator for the solution, bulk and suspension (co)polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates.
Temperature range (solution polym.): 130 to 170°C
Dosing: 0,05 to 0,1 phr
PEROXAN BU is used for the curing of unsaturated polyester resins at elevated temperatures.
PEROXAN BU is preferred for the curing of UP resin based hot press moulding formulations in the temperature range from 130° to 170°C.
The stability of this Dialkyl peroxide in an UP resin is hardly influenced by the presence of metal accelerators, pigments or fillers.
Depending on working conditions, the following peroxide dosage level is recommended:
PEROXAN BU: 1,0 to 1,5 phr
PEROXAN BU is recommended for the crosslinking of NBR, SBR, EP(D)M, LDPE and EVA. Rubber compounds containing PEROXAN BU have excellent scorch safety.
Safe processing temperature (t2): 135°C
Typical crosslinking temperature (t90): 175°C
The safe processing temperature t2 is defined as the temperature, at which the scorch time is longer than 20 minutes. The typical crosslinking temperature t90 is defined as the temperature at which 90% of the crosslinks in the compound are formed within about 12 minutes.
